This paper describes and compares living arrangements of older adults in 2 Latin American countries in different stage of demographic transition, such as Argentina and Dominican Republic. The sources of information used were the microdata census of population, Demographic Bulletins (Eclac/Celade), System of Indicators with comparable information for countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. The impact analysis of differences in the demographic transition between Argentina and Dominican Republic on the living arrangements of the elderly is the main objective of the study.
