SALAS-QUINTANAL, Hernán y GONZALEZ-DE LA FUENTE, Íñigo. The reproduction of the labor pluri-activity among rural young people in Tlaxcala, Mexico. Pap. poblac [online]. 2014, vol.20, n.79, pp.281-307. ISSN 2448-7147.
Nowadays, it is a proven fact that agricultural activities which used to be centered in Mexican rural societies have been diversified with other types of activities, especially wage work. They have gone through several transformations which have affected the inhabitants in these rural societies and their agricultural practices in an important way. This ethnographic paper explores the characteristics that are significant to understand the way that workforce is pluri-actively reproduced, which is how young people from the municipally of Nativitas (Tlaxcala) are inclined to be employed in different fields and sectors, both in national and international labor markets. Specifically, the article examines three employment strategies: socialization and informal learning processes in domestic units, supporting practices through social networks, and consumption practices.
