This work aims to analyze the impact of fertility on growth of the municipalities of the State of Mexico in the period 1990-2010. This is done with the information of population and housing censuses to estimate both the growth rates of the total population at the municipal level and the growth rate of the age groups of 0-4 years, and 5-9 years are population groups most associated with fertility in Mexico. Among the main results is the finding of the enormous diversity of population growth at the municipal level and having erratic trends at different times of estimation.
