The relationship between the social vulnerability of microenterprises and their economic performance in the presence of crime in the neighborhood where they are located, was analyzed for a sample of 401 establishments in Ixtaczoquitlan and Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico. Using two statistical methods: Multiple Correspondence Analysis and the Logit model, we identified that the degree of schooling and the experience of the owner of the company help micro-businesses reduce their vulnerable social status facing the negative impacts of crime in their sales strategies, strengthening their crime prevention and recovery capabilities.
