PEREZ-CASTRO, Judith. Tensiones de la formación ético-profesional en los posgrados de la UJAT. Sinéctica [online]. 2011, n.37, pp.1-18. ISSN 2007-7033.
In this paper, we analyze some of the challenges that surround professional ethics education. At first, we discuss different problems related to this subject that have been identified in the specialized literature. Then, we present the results of a research developed in the Juarez Autonomous University of Tabasco, specifically, we focused on the professor-researchers who worked at the graduate programs. With this information, we were able to identify three levels of commitment regarding professional ethics. The first one refers to the values that in general terms should be socialized by the university. Here, the majority of the professor-researchers favored professional values. The second level deals with the competences that graduate students ought to learn. In this case, the affective-emotional traits registered the higher level of approval. Finally, the third one encompasses the typical characteristics of professional education. And now, the cognitive traits reached the highest percentage of answers. In addition, most of the professor-researchers agreed that curricula should include a specific subject on ethics, however, when we asked them about its contents, we obtained a great variety of answers. Some of the suggested topics were: the discussion of labor problems and the analysis of professional rights, responsibilities and principles.
