CORTEZ SALINAS, Josafat. Mexican Supreme Court’s Clerks: Essential but Forgotten Actors. Polít. gob [online]. 2019, vol.26, n.2, pp.219-236. Epub 26-Jun-2020. ISSN 1665-2037.
The impact of the constitutional judges' clerks in the construction of judicial sentences has been widely studied by the Anglo-Saxon literature. However, less is known about the profile and influence of the clerks in the Latin American Courts. This work builds a theoretical proposal on the role of the judges' collaborators in the Supreme Courts: they incorporate different perspectives on legal problems, reduce the learning costs of court's routines and they are sources of information that allow the dissemination of new legal ideas. From an original database on the features of 117 lawyers working in the Supreme Court of Justice in Mexico, an exploration of the professional profile and recruitment mechanisms is presented.
