Resumen
HERNANDEZ-NAVARRO, Fabiola y CASTELLO, Montserrat. Analysis of genres of academic writing in accordance with university students' perception. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2014, vol.14, n.65, pp.61-80. ISSN 1665-2673.
In order to confront the challenges of the "society of knowledge," universities have implemented systems of innovation that favor the development of skills linked to critical thinking. One of them is writing in academic genres that require this kind of thinking. This work aims to identify the genres that students face, as well as the formats they use to present them. For the research we used a non-experimental, transversal, comparative relational design. The data was gathered through a survey designed ad hoc. 258 students participated from all courses of the Accounting program of the Universidad Veracruzana. The results reflect that the most common genres are exercises, essays, and methodologies. There are significant differences between the genres, according to educational level. The main format used for turning in texts is the printed format.
