DIAZ PERERA, Miguel Ángel. Tras las huellas de Palenque: las primeras exploraciones. LiminaR [online]. 2009, vol.7, n.1, pp.104-134. ISSN 2007-8900.
With discovery of Palenque en XVIII century, practices which would give logic for investigating the past of mexican prehispanic were started. These practices were link with transcontinental traffic knowledge, because explorations were urged by the Real Audiencia of Guatemala and later by The Societe de Geographie from Paris, both, people who were sent should have to answer some previously written instructions where these askedfor storing monuments, excavations, maps, drawing and interviews. As such, these jobs worked out to bind the notion from the prehispanic to specific practices of study, the foreshadowing of a knowledge field where years would be called "archeology" connected to work forms which they would serve as a model for travellers and later scholars.
