ZAMARRIPA, Jorge; RUIZ-JUAN, Francisco y RUIZ-RISUENO ABAD, Jorge Ricardo. The decisional balance, stages of change and level of physical activity in High School students. Andamios [online]. 2019, vol.16, n.39, pp.379-401. ISSN 2594-1917. https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v16i39.688.
The transtheoretical model establish that the modification of behaviors implies the progression of the subjects through five stages and the decisional balance is one of the processes implied of such change. The aims of the study were to evaluate the concurrent validity of the stage of change for exercise questionnaire and to examine the decisional balance through the stages of change and its relationship with the level of physical activity-sports activity in 285 public high school students in Monterrey, Mexico. The results reflect the importance of the decisional balance in order to change sedentary behavior and adopt an active lifestyle in youth population. Evidence of concurrent validity of the stage of change for exercise questionnaire is presented.
