RODRIGUEZ GOROZPE, Claudia Ivett; JACOME MUSULE, José Luis y PEREA MEJIA, Luis Manuel. Comparative study of microbial coronal filtration in three restoration provisional materials in filled teeth with Guttaflow. Rev. Odont. Mex [online]. 2010, vol.14, n.1, pp.21-31. ISSN 1870-199X.
An "ex-vivo" study is presented, which evaluates microbial coronal filtration in restoration provisional materials IRM (Denstply), Vitremer (3M ESPE) and resin Z350 (3M ESPE) in filled teeth with Guttaflow during three months of exposure with Enterococcus faecalis. Eighty six extracted single rooted human teeth were used. And they were instrumentated with the system K3 VTVT, and irrigated with NaOCl to 2.5, Clear Smear 17% chlorhexidine gluconate 2%. The first teeth sealed with Guttaflow without provisional material (25%) submitted blackening on Day 6, 17, 47, 61 from exposure to Enterococcus faecalis. The first teeth sealed with provisional material IRM (10%) submitted blackening on day 6 and 83. The group of Vitremer did not present filtration in the first month. The first teeth sealed with provisional material Vitremer (35%) submitted blackening on day 33, 34, 55, 80, 84, 88 of exposure to Enterococcus faecalis. In the provisional materials, Z350 Resin (100%) did not evidence blackening (bacterial filtration). The Guttaflow material presents filtration after a week and it is concluded that it is necessary to place a temporary restoration material to prevent bacterial contamination.
