FERNANDEZ GUZMAN, Eduardo. Entrepreneur Migrants. A Theoretical Approach and the State of the Art of Their Study. Norteamérica [online]. 2022, vol.17, n.1, pp.61-106. Epub 22-Nov-2022. ISSN 2448-7228. https://doi.org/10.22201/cisan.24487228e.2022.1.541.
The entrepreneurial migrant spirit, the entrepreneur migrant in the destination society, is a phenomenon that has been rather widely analyzed both theoretically and empirically from the standpoint of different social and economic disciplines. But this is not the case as much from the point of view of history, mainly in the United States and Europe; and even though Mexican academia has produced outstanding research on the topic, interesting aspects remain to be analyzed. The reality of international migrants is heterogeneous and multi-faceted, with a corollary of effects and impacts in both societies, that of destination and of origin. This research project analyzes theoretically and conceptually the literature about migrant entrepreneurship and draws a balance sheet. The methodology used is a documentary and bibliographical review of what has been analyzed around the world about international migrants' entrepreneurial and investment reality. This has not been widely researched in Mexico despite the growth in recent decades of the number of migrant Mexican businesspersons in the United States. The aim here is to approach this topic, since there is a great deal to be revealed about it from Mexico.
