Objective:
to analyze the effects of healthy housing on the health status of the cities of Oaxaca during the period 2000-2015.
Methodology:
investigation with application of the mixed effects linear regression statistical technique, which allows obtaining the existing association over time of the analyzed indices.
Results:
healthy housing contributes to maintaining a good state of health among citizens, especially those that have access to basic housing services and good quality of construction materials.
Limitations:
there is a lack of comparative studies on a national scale to analyze the effects of COVID-19 on housing. Value: the information obtained about the cities allow express the health of the population based on the conditions in the dwelling.
Conclusions:
the health status of cities improves with the healthy homes increment, as long as housing is thought of as a first space for the construction of public health.
