Península [online]. 2023, vol.18, n.2, pp.85-111. Epub 23-Abr-2024. ISSN 1870-5766. https://doi.org/10.22201/cephcis.25942743e.2023.18.2.85944.
The purpose of this research was to understand the problems and challenges experienced by young Mayan students in higher, scientific and technological education in Yucatan. A multiple case study was carried out, resoting to different informants and techniques for the collection of information. We worked with two cases, the Technological Institute of Oxkutzcab and the Technological Institute of Valladolid. It is concluded that poverty, discrimination and school segregation are determining factors in the trajectory of young Mayan students in higher education. It is recommended to study with greater emphasis the issue of discrimination by ethnicity, as well as the incursion of Mayan women in technological higher education.
