Resumen

ROUX GUTIERREZ, Rubén Salvador  y  ESPUNA MUJICA, José Adán. The Calcium Hydroxide and compressed earth blocks, an alternative and sustainable construction. Nova scientia [online]. 2013, vol.5, n.9, pp.176-202. ISSN 2007-0705.

Actually, in our country, refers to a series of problems with housing programmes, even when has been reduced the housing's deficit or that have been built every year more housing for the benefit of people on low incomes. Topelson (2011) mentions that "...We must encourage construction in intraurbanas areas, where there is an installed capacity for the provision of services, where the prospects for construction of social fabric and economic opportunities are more viable, orienting to buyers in the criteria to choose most suitable housing for your family". Considered constructive systems used in homes that are in use in the Tamaulipas' South area, are designed without adequately taking climate, promoting hygrothermal discomfort conditions or increase demand for energy. The results show that the use of conventional materials in the housing is poor and that design can be improved to make the homes best suited to the climate where are built with some alternative materials, as it is the case of mortars with calcium hydroxide in replacement of the cement and blocks of compressed earth rather than concrete blocks or annealing mud bricks.

Palabras llave : housing; Calcium Hydroxide; compressed earth block and sustainability.
