Resumen

The objective of this research was to identify the technological supply and demand and to raise agroalimentary maize value chain alternatives innovation at the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. The following stages were realized: 1) value chain characterization; 2) identification of critical components; 3) identification of technological knowledge and policy demands; 4) identification of technological supply and 5) identification of research and policy projects. The agroalimentary value chain focus was applied and two consulting forums to identify demands and chain links were realized. Trough bibliographical consultation the technological supply was integrated, and when the supply was contrasted with the demand, the chain projects to impulse were identified. Twenty-three demands were identified: six related to training, three to validation and technology transfer, six to new knowledge, three to new technologies and five to public policies. Technology and information were identified to take care of 10 of the demands. In addition, there is a need to support 13 new projects to improve the maize value chain technological innovation at the state of Hidalgo.
