LONGAR BLANCO, María del Pilar; PEREZ HERNANDEZ, María del Pilar M.  y  RIOS MARTINEZ, Edson. State of hydroponics techniques. Rev. Mex. Cienc. Agríc [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.5, pp.803-809. ISSN 2007-0934.

During the last few years, hydroponics has proven to be an efficient technique for the production of vegetables; even so, in Mexico its presence has grown slowly. This study attempts to find out, by means of analyzing the patents granted to the various people involved in articulating the patenting of devices and methods related to hydroponics; this information will allow the generation of a perspective on the situation, as well as productive hydroponics applications in Mexico, from the standpoint of those who submit patents. The research is considered to have the potential of being knowledge evidence regarding the tendency of the productive applications in Mexico for the following years. The patent analysis was carried out using the patents database from the United States Patents and Trademarks Office (USPTO), the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI-SIGA, in Spanish), and using the Patent Integration software, as well as patents granted from France, Great Britain, and Japan, representative of Europe and Asia.
