Resumen

SANCHEZ-PALE, Jesús Ricardo; RAMIREZ-DAVILA, José Francisco; GONZALEZ-HUERTA, Andrés  y  DE LEON, Carlos. Spatial pattern of maize head smut in different localities of the State of Mexico. Rev. Mex. Cienc. Agríc [online]. 2015, vol.6, n.7, pp.1467-1480. ISSN 2007-0934.

In order to generate a basis to handle head smut of corn, on infested areas in the State of Mexico, the spatial pattern showed during four consecutive years of study was studied. This research was conducted to determine the spatial distribution of the disease with geostatistical techniques in 2009. Its incidence was determined in l00 plots of each of the 25 locations evaluated, geographically locating them with dGPS. Determining the spatial distribution was performed using geostatistical tools, which were validated through cross validation procedure. Spatial distribution maps through kriging were developed and the infested area was estimated. The results of cross validation indicated that semivariograms obtained were fitted to the spherical model in l9 locations, four at exponential and two to Gaussian. Different models showed that the spatial pattern of the disease occurs in aggregate form or specific points within each locality. The aggregation was visualized at random within each locality through the elaborated maps. These maps enable estimating the infested area, which will allow its handling with precision through the site-specific and detect changes in spatial patterns over time.
