Resumen
FLORES-VILLANELO, Juan Pablo. Infiltration trench design for ungauged areas using SIG. Tecnol. cienc. agua [online]. 2012, vol.3, n.2, pp.27-39. ISSN 2007-2422.
A procedure was developed for sizing infiltration trenches based on the water balance of a hillslope. This is focused on two main elements-extreme rainfall events and constant infiltration capacity. Because of the shortage of hydrological data neat the site of the water resources project, this infiltration model uses regional frequency analysis, analysis of rainfall distribution, the storm index method and the application of geoestatistical techniques. The results allow for obtaining an extension of the intensity-duration-frequency relationships with non-recording rain gauges and the sizing of water and soil conservation structures. The model was applied to the Purapel River Basin located in central Chile to demonstrate the ease of the suggested procedure.
