PUELLES ROMERO, Luis. What desire imagines. The temptations of Hans Bellmer. Valenciana [online]. 2019, vol.12, n.23, pp.271-292. ISSN 2007-2538. https://doi.org/10.15174/rv.v0i23.421.
Taking as a hermeneutical premise the notion of imagination in Baudelaire’s formulation of it, and avoiding both the pathological temptation and the one limited to the formalist consideration of the work of art, the approach to the work of Hans Bellmer that here is proposed explores the power of estrangement that the dolls he has built and photographed provoke in the spectator. Next to it, the will of Bellmer to overcome all resistance of the body in favor of greater versatility, the prevalence who has in this corpus the photogenicity of these dolls or their own definition as simulacrum-image, in the sense recovered by Deleuze in his reading of the Sophist, are the field of problematization with which the complexity of the Bellmerian imaginary is tackled in this pages.
