Abstract: In this essay, the author has the objective of exposing how re levant the right to information is in a democracy. In this regard, the right is analyzed starting from the description of the main conceptual elements that it comprises, such as its nature of au tonomous right, concept, object and content; all of this, without ignoring the prevailing situation in Mexico concer ning this fundamental right.
