ARREDONDO MARTINEZ, Yuritzi. The autonomous constitutional bodies in the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador: conflicts and possibilities. Inter disciplina [online]. 2022, vol.10, n.27, pp.315-345. Epub 03-Oct-2022. ISSN 2448-5705. https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2022.27.82157.
Since the 1990s, the structure of the Mexican State began to experience the creation of autonomous bodies with constitutional status. Subject that is analyzed in the present article, which aims to describe the situation faced by the autonomous constitutional bodies (OCA) in the government of president Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his republican austerity policy. Therefore, it is necessary to be able to understand the role that these organs play, know them, know when they arise and how they have evolved over time. It is important to point out that the OCA’s are those organizations created directly in the constitution that enjoy legal autonomy in terms of their administration and functions. The emergence of these bodies is through the traditional theory of the division of powers, which was developed by Montesquieu. Its main characteristic is that they are not under the command of any of the three powers, that is, they are in coordination with them through the power they have directly in the Constitution. In general, OCA’s are considered control and counterweight mechanisms in the exercise of political power, structures that help shape democracy.
