Inter disciplina [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.29, pp.409-429. Epub 26-Jun-2023. ISSN 2448-5705. https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2023.29.84497.
In Latin America, environmental risk management and the realization of human rights have theoretical challenges to overcome. One of them is the colonization in epistemic which is transferred from environmental management to the market and through the formal path of human rights. Considering the current environmental threat and the permanent violation of human rights in Latin America, it is important to consider historically colonized peoples and their knowledge. The integration of new knowledge can lead to the achievement of environmental sustainability and the realization of human rights. From the field of economics and human rights there are a series of theoretical proposals that go beyond epistemic colonization, that work independently one from another. The purpose of this document is to incorporate a Latin American perspective of human rights into the core guide of postnormal science, to generate a strong theoretical framework and concepts that protect the multicultural aspect of Latin American societies, using an interdisciplinary methodology. Several principles of the Latin American perspective of human rights intersect with the methodological criteria of postnormal science.
