Resumen

LEMUS, Leslie. Women Construction Workers: Methodological Notes on Female Participation in Masculinized Occupations. Estud. sociol [online]. 2021, vol.39, n.117, pp.899-912.  Epub 04-Abr-2022. ISSN 2448-6442.  https://doi.org/10.24201/es.2021v39n117.2258.

The incorporation of women into paid work is a broad, complex phenomenon. Its characteristics vary according to the context, level and scale of analysis. In this text, I briefly review the notion of the feminization of labor markets, on the basis of which I present a methodological proposal that combines strategic ethnography and the biographical approach to study women’s participation in masculinized occupations, specifically blue collar jobs in the construction sector in contemporary Mexico City.

Palabras llave : feminization; labor markets; masculinized occupations; women construction workers.
