Abstract: We have researched to understand the work of teachers trained as primary school teachers in Youth and Adult Education schools in Córdoba, Argentina. This article describes a challenge of the teaching profession that we have identified in teaching under these institutional conditions: the problem of integrating the sense of fractions. From a didactic perspective, we examine how the issue of the sense of knowledge is addressed in regulations within this educational modality, and we describe how this problem manifests in a teacher’s daily work. On the one hand, we identify the limitations of a strategy to recover numeracy events from everyday life. On the other hand, we analyze classroom fragments from which we propose possible germinal contributions to constructing the sense of fractions.
