SANTOYO MERCADO, Aurea; CASILLAS LOPEZ, Miguel Angel  y  OLIVARES GALLO, Juan Ernesto Alejandro. Visualization of the graphic image of a container through augmented reality as an educational support tool in a context of a global pandemic. Zincografía [online]. 2022, vol.6, n.11, pp.97-115.  Epub 23-Mayo-2022. ISSN 2448-8437.  https://doi.org/10.32870/zcr.v6i11.146.

In a learning unit of the Graphic Design degree at the José Vasconcelos University of Oaxaca, Mexico (Univas), augmented reality (AR) was incorporated to show the application of graphic proposals in labels mounted on a three-dimensional object, in a primary and secondary packaging. Through a smartphone, the students visualized their graphic image proposals with an approach to reality. The objectives of this research were to understand and integrate this technological model in project-based learning (PBL), in the context of the current pandemic, where the materials and physical processes to develop the graphic design of a container are transferred to a digital reality. The methodological process consisted of implementing augmented reality technology in project-based learning as an emerging tool in the teaching-learning process. As a finding, the students acquired significant learning and the experience to consider augmented reality as an instrument in their professional performance. In conclusion, using the didactic technique of project-based learning and augmented reality in the design project innovated the teaching-learning process and, in turn, improved the times and quality of design products.

Palabras llave : Graphic image of container; augmented reality; project-based learning.
