WOLFESBERGER, Philipp. The Political between Democracy and Communality. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2019, vol.64, n.237, pp.43-64. Epub 07-Nov-2019. ISSN 0185-1918. https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.2448492xe.2019.237.66390.
In the context of a political system in which democracy is undergoing a process of crisis of representation and depoliticization, coexisting experiences of indigenous communities in resistance offer different ways of understanding communal life in Mexico. By means of a theoretical study this paper analyzes the relationship between the political of democracy and communality. It discusses the notion of solidary power, derived from indigenous communal authority, as a central idea of a concept of non-hierarchical but mandatory and collective power. The relationship between different epistemologies contributes to a necessary advancement of the theory of democracy and radical democracy and emphasizes the need for theoretical intercultural dialogues on community and the political.
