The transcribed document is a testimony written by the members of the City Council of Mexico City in 1753 to defend the mendicants and expressing their opposition to the separation of religious from their doctrines. This document was drafted in the framework of the secularizing project in the 18^th century that clearly stated the prohibition of any institution to intervene in this case.
