Resumen
SKERRITT GARDNER, David. Una tomografía de la migración internacional: tres momentos en una región veracruzana. Estud. hist. mod. contemp. Mex [online]. 2008, n.35, pp.145-179. ISSN 0185-2620.
The article explores the problem of the mass migration of residents of Veracruz to the United States during the 1990s. It attempts to place this process within a historical perspective, to complement the structural and conjunctural explanations of recent studies. To this end, the author has chosen a part of the state of Veracruz that participated by contributing numerous braceros from 1944 onwards. Interviews with survivors of this stage of migration were used to reconstruct their experiences and thereby create an image of the impact their experiences would have had on their families and communique ties and the contemporary process known as emerging migration.
