This paper seeks to investigate the constructions of identity around the Virgin of Caacupé of the Paraguayan migrants in San Carlos de Bariloche, Río Negro city located to the Northwest of Patagonia, of the Paraguayan migrants. Accordingly, the transfer and refounding of Marian devotion, with an emphasis on how religious practice is redefined in the place of destination and how devotion is operated, from the barilochense otherness, in the identity of the migrant group processes.
