Resumen
ARDITO ALDANA, Lorena. When don Carnal dresses in black: between "lo negro" and "lo afrodescendiente". Latinoamérica [online]. 2014, n.59, pp.223-249. ISSN 2448-6914.
By walking through some of the major events in the form of Latin American carnivals in which predominate or evidence African roots, this paper explores racial, analytical and political-cultural dilemmas that have confronted the notions of black and African descent in our own space, with a view to proposing a typology of regional cartographic negritudes. The phrase "When don Carnal dresses in black" allows to articulate subjects, performances and meanings that show, from one place to another, the various states of legitimacy of such negritudes in the context of celebrations and society.
