ESCAMILLA TREJO, Adrián. Industrial policy of the Porfiriato to the Revolution. Historiography and analysis. Economía UNAM [online]. 2020, vol.17, n.49, pp.165-203.  Epub 22-Dic-2020. ISSN 1665-952X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fe.24488143e.2020.49.513.

This article makes historiographic analysis on the industrial policy in the period that goes from the Porfiriato to the Mexican Revolution. The study includes a discussion about the relation between history and economy. First, it analyzes the institutional approach in the first works that study the Porfirian industrial policies, and explores their influence on economists and other social scientists who discussed economic development. Subsequently, it considers the neoinstitutional currents recent impact on the perspective of historians and economists who analyze the evolution of industrial policy in the crossing of centuries. The results of this research suggest that a different view on the political bases of industrial growth in Mexico has been positioned among the economists. In the final part of the article, some scope and limits of this new historical interpretation are commented.
