The commercial relations (both intraindustrial and interindustrial) of China and Russia with Latin America and the Caribbean, 2000-2017. The present work analyzes the peculiarities of the trade of China and Russia with some countries of Latin America and the Caribbean from the year 2000 to 2017. In the case of China, it can be seen that it has become an important global player and that Latin America and the Caribbean has become a subcontinent that supplies raw materials to that country and also it is the destination of part of Chinese manufacturing exports. that in some cases displaced the United States as a trading partner for some countries of South America. On the other hand, the collapse and disappearance of the Union of Socialist and Soviet Republics (USSR) and the disappearance of the Council of Mutual Economic Assistance (CAME), meant for Russia the need for structural changes in its economy, significantly transforming its foreign trade, both suppliers and markets. The trade between Russia and its trade partners in Latin America and the Caribbean has the characteristic of being a kind of trade of not very high significance in terms of value, but that has been gaining importance, especially with Brazil, in the time of Lula and Dilma Rousseff; the future with Bolsonaro seems uncertain. Consequently, we intend to capture the meaning and depth of these trends and their implications for the cases of China and Russia, as well as the new reconfigurations with the trading partners with Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina and Colombia; which is relatively important because of the magnitude of the exchanges.
