This study analyzes the behavior of businessmen in Sinaloa, Mexico, regarding the processes of innovation in the 90’s. It examines the problems businessmen face to introduce innovations, the factors that had and that will probably have a bearing on such innovations. This study also considers the levels of information that businessmen have over the support organizations for company improvement, and the ways and mechanisms that prevail in the entrepreneurial culture. Types of alliances and networks constitute another concern of this paper, since there are inclinations toward the study of the so called associational economies.This article also intends to find out the educational background of people running businesses, since having a strong educational background can be a determining factor in the innovation process. Finally, the report reviews institutions with which businesses have developed liaison processes and with which institutions they wish to develop such relationships in the future.
