Resumen

TOVILLA-ESPONOZA, Carolina et al. Whole or ground thermoprocessed soybean (Glycine max) in in vitro digestibility, nitrogen balance and productive behavior in lambs. Ecosistemas y recur. agropecuarios [online]. 2019, vol.6, n.18, pp.587-593.  Epub 20-Feb-2020. ISSN 2007-901X.  https://doi.org/10.19136/era.a6n18.2229.

The objective was to evaluate the benefit of thermal processing of whole soybean meal (WSM) and thermoprocessed soybean grain (TSG) compared to soybean paste (SP) in diets for growing lambs. The experiment evaluated the use of WSM and TSG compared to SP, using 27 lambs with an initial weight of 30.4 ± 0.63 kg, randomly assigned in one of three treatments (n = 9) (WSM, TSG and SP). The experimental design and analysis of variance were completely randomized, and the comparison of means was performed using the Tukey test. The use of WSM and TSG improved dry matter consumption, daily weight gain and feed conversion (p < 0.05). WSM increased nitrogen retention. Differences between protein fractions showed no significant differences. The use of thermoprocessed soybean (WSM and TSG) improves the productivity of growing lambs.
