LUQUE MOYA, Gloria. Creativity in the South Korea’s education system today: A comparative reflection based on John Dewey’s philosophy. Estud. Asia Áfr. [online]. 2020, vol.55, n.3, pp.459-479. Epub 13-Nov-2020. ISSN 2448-654X. https://doi.org/10.24201/eaa.v55i3.2516.
South Korea’s education system has become an international model due to its top ranking in international league tables during recent decades. Nonetheless, this model has raised a number of problems that need to be addressed. The Korean government is aware of this situation and has proposed a set of reforms to promote “creatively integrated talents”. This article analyzes the proposed courses of action in relation to the ideas of the philosopher and educational reformer John Dewey, focusing on what has come to be called creative pedagogy.
