This paper presents some characteristics of the labor market in North America, considering as reference the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The present results and the future perspective about the professional services in the region are also analyzed. In addition, it will be considered which are the most demanded professional services, its requirements, accessibility and restrictions for the mexican professionals interested in joining this market. The central argument is that the most dynamic generating job is the services sector which also presents priorities and particularities between three countries. On the other hand, there has been an increase on the mexican migration that has high education in relation with previous years. However, a greater mobility of professionals to the labor market of North America continues to be a challenge for Mexico, in spite of the existing negotiations on the matter and it rather has been characterized for covering specific necessities within certain strategic areas of the economy of the region, that also resounds on the migratory policy of each country. Finally, an invitation is extended to a reflection of the indirect consequences of the migration of mexican professionals like the brains drain.
