Resumen

PINKUS RENDON, Miguel Ángel. El hombre y los artrópodos: un vínculo inalienable. Península [online]. 2010, vol.5, n.2, pp.81-100. ISSN 1870-5766.

Arthropods are the most bio-diverse animal group known. Because of their adaptive abilities they are found in practically all corners of the earth and play a central role in human ecology. Since ancient times people have formed complex relationships with members of this phylum, and they are present -in ways that are both harmful and helpful- in our economic and public health issues, in part due to their toxicity as well as their therapeutic benefits. They are also present in human culture in the form of proverbs and songs, and form an important part of the worldview of certain societies.

Palabras llave : Arthropods; economy; public health; worldview.
