Taking as its starting point the debate about the criteria that would legitimize the defense of the right to personal identity -the State over individuals, and vice versa- the article aims to discuss the conceptuality that it seeks to justify. For this, it uses the distinction between idem and ipse identity that makes Paul Ricoeur, from which it is suggested to extend the description of the concept.

Among the features to consider will be the impact of the narration as a condition for an identity interpreted assuming its temporality.
