TEMKIN, Benjamín y TRONCO, José del. Human Development Subjective Well-Being and Democracy: Confirmations, Surprises and Questions. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2006, vol.68, n.4, pp.731-760. ISSN 2594-0651.
This article analyzes the relationship between well-being and the assessment of democracy worldwide, highlighting the importance of both the objective and subjective dimensions of well-being. As a result of the analysis, civic assessment of democracy is expected to be higher in countries where the difference between human development and subjective well-being is lower; in other words, where "objective" conditions are not that far from the degree of satisfaction with citizens' life and happiness.
