Resumen
CUEVA, Marcos. From the Great Liberation to the End of Authority. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2007, vol.69, n.2, pp.243-275. ISSN 2594-0651.
Taking as a point of departure the theories proposed by some key authors, the article puts to debate the notion of authority, which turns out to be very different from what is commonly understood by authoritarianism. Contrary to what is usually believed in some cultural contexts, authority does not stand for the use of force. Neither is it associated with the notion of persuasion. Under that premise, this research -historical, sociological and on social psychology- debates the problems of authority during the second postwar period of the 20th century, as well as the role played by the psycho-morphism of American origin in such authority's collapse.
