There are highly abrasive toothpastes, such as toothpastes whitening effect, the effects of these pastes on the morphology of the enamel surface of teeth of cattle were studied, which were brushed for a period of six months. Was used an Atomic Force Microscope to observe and analyze morphological changes after brushing, concluding that there are significant changes. Whereas there are patients using this type of paste as conventional toothpastes, it is important to consider that may cause long-term wear or changes on the morphology of the teeth.
