Resumen

CHAVEZ MANCILLA, Ángel. From the Nicolaíta to the ’68. Eli de Gortari and university protests. Sig. his [online]. 2017, vol.19, n.37, pp.126-155. ISSN 1665-4420.

Eli de Gortari, one of the main leftist intellectuals in the 1960s, is better-known for his studies on the history of science and dialectical logic, rather than for his political background. This article analyzes his relevant participation in three political student movements: the 1963 strike in the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, the movement in favor of the university reform in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 1966, and the student movement of 1968. At the same time, it presents the relationship between De Gortari and Mexico’s Communist Party, as well as his being tracked by the Mexican Federal Security Agency.

Palabras llave : political participation; university; PCM; DFS; 1960’s.
