Resumen

MORAGA CAVOUR, Odaimis Nicole. Material turn in Julieta Kirkwood’s feminist critique. Debate fem. [online]. 2019, vol.58, pp.31-52.  Epub 19-Mar-2021. ISSN 2594-066X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cieg.2594066xe.2019.58.02.

This article seeks to interpret the work of Julieta Kirkwood from the critical position it develops on the materiality of the identity discourses of the popular national project of the left in Chile, disciplinary knowledge, as well as the possibility of feminist thought and politics. In keeping with Judith Butler, materiality is understood as an effect of power that stabilizes over time. Julieta Kirkwood’s operations and strategies will be analyzed to denaturalize the essentialist attributions about women underpinning the policies of interpretation and representation in the field of politics and knowledge in the 1980s. These denaturalizing operations will be understood as a determining material perspective in the thinking of Julieta Kirkwood.
