Resumen

SOSA-SANCHEZ, Itzel Adriana. Adolescent Pregnancy and Sexuality in Mexico: An Interpretation from the Perspective of Moral and Sexual Panic. Debate fem. [online]. 2021, vol.61, pp.92-112.  Epub 10-Mayo-2023. ISSN 2594-066X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cieg.2594066xe.2021.61.2233.

Through a critical perspective on sexuality, this article presents an analysis of the denaturalization of the problem of adolescent pregnancy in which factors that transcend it are made visible and the concepts of moral and sexual panic are mobilized, since they are considered relevant. It is considered that the construction and social perception of adolescent pregnancy is shot through by the definition of those who are considered legitimate subjects of sexuality and reproduction. This reflection seeks to question the dominant social discourses that consider teenage pregnancy a threat, while concealing the social inequalities and processes of social, subjective, and political fragilization that make it possible and lend it meaning. It is intended to promote a collective reflection on the subject that will contribute to strengthening the sexual and reproductive rights of the adolescent population, as well as their sexual autonomy.

Palabras llave : Teenage pregnancy; Sexuality; Moral and sexual panic; Social inequality.
