We make a study on the new statutes of autonomy adopted since 2006 in Spain in comparison with the basic institutional rules of the other federal states such as United States of America, México, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Along with the obvious aim of framing the new Constitution approved in Spain within a global context, the emphasis is on the difficulties as result of some questions that remained opened after the STC 31/2010 about the new statute of Catalonia yet.
