PEREZ DUARTE Y NORONA, Alicia Elena. Campeche’s cohabitation societis. Recognaizing diversity or discrimination. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2020, vol.53, n.159, pp.1117-1137.  Epub 21-Jan-2022. ISSN 2448-4873.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iij.24484873e.2020.159.15801.

The National Supreme Court of Justice’s decision about the unconstitutional action promoted by the Campeche’s Human Right Commission against the reform of the Civil Code of that federative entity that introduced the cohabitation societies as part of the family right’s institutions is the start point to analyze this figure and the implications of the same both socially and towards children. It is important to emphasize the analysis of equality as the sacred value in the Constitution facing the discriminatory prejudices that still permeate Mexican society, especially when we consider heteronormativity at risk as the constitutive pillar for the family, and it’s more evident the discrimination suffered by people whose preference or sexual identity is not within heterosexuality and how it affects, among other human rights, their right to form a family.

Palavras-chave : human rights; supreme childhood interest; equality and not discrimination; cohabitation society; family.
