RODRIGUEZ CALDERON, David. Resolution of labor disputes in Latin America: the role of unions in labor mediation. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2023, vol.56, n.167, pp.221-249.  Epub 25-Jun-2024. ISSN 2448-4873.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iij.24484873e.2023.167.18539.

In recent years, Latin American countries have introduced important labor reforms that promise to improve workers’ rights in the region, but have not produced significant results, especially in countries like Colombia and Mexico. The region ranks low in indices that monitor labor rights, although there are problems with the more prominent labor rights index produced by the International Trade Union Confederation. The objective of this research is to compile the different labor mediation strategies that Latin American countries have implemented to create a regional context of success stories and opportunities in resolving labor disputes. In a quantitative analysis of data mining with the support of metadata, the Latin American mediation systems, structural and economic reforms, the impact of unions on their affiliation capacity were studied, this in order to generate reliable data on the force of Latin American labor.
