SANCHEZ-FLORES, Óscar Ángel et al. Natural parasitism of Aphelinidae (Hymenoptera) on Aleuropleurocelus aff. acaudatus Drews & Sampson (Aleyrodidae), in Mexican creole avocados from southern Coahuila, Mexico. Acta Zool. Mex [online]. 2015, vol.31, n.2, pp.173-177. ISSN 2448-8445.
Persea Americana Mill. (Mexican creole avocados) in the South of Coahuila, México, are attacked by a recently discovered whitefly species (Aleyrodidae). This work was focused on determining that species, its parasitoids, and the natural parasitism levels. Sampling of creole avocado leaves was carried out during November 2012 and January, March, April and May 2013, to recover 4th instar white-fly nymphs, in the municipalities of Parras and Matamoros, Coahuila, México. This whitefly was found to belong in the genus Aleuropleurocelus Drews & Sampson, and to be close to acaudatus Drews & Sampson. This new whitefly record for avocados in México was found to be parasitized on average by 56, 8% by the aphelinids Eretmocerus perseae Rose Zolnerowich and Encarsia macula Myartseva & Evans. Eretmocerus perseae was the most abundant parasitoid (94% of infestation).
