In this paper the author explains the political ideas of Pope John Paul II and their great importance. The author establishes also the difference between matters of faith and political ideas and shows that, contrary to sorne opinions, the Pope was a progresist Pope whose political ideas are shared by all those who believes in human dignity, liberty, democracy, and open societies.
