In this article, the authors analyze the configurations adopted by reconstituted families after a divorce from the perspective of the two logics that, in accord with several specialists, characterize said reconstitutions- the logic of substitution (in which the biological father/ mother without custody, is substituted by the step mother or stepfather, and the logic of foreverness (meant to maintain the role and the position of the first after said family reconstitution)- the authors develop the hypothesis of the family constellation, which has proven to be also valid for the study of the construction of paternity and maternity (that constitutes the scientific object treated in this article), above all insofar as to the ways through which the role of the paternal position is being built of the fathers/mothers and stepfathers/stepmothers in the midst of these reconstituted families.
